Troubleshooting PAP Issues

 PROBLEM

POSSIBLE REMEDIES

Unit will not
turn on
  • Make sure the unit is plugged into the live receptacle

  • Ensure power cable is firmly attached to unit

Motor is not running
  • Clean or replace the air filter

  • Make sure air inlets are not being obstructed

Skin has become irritated where mask touches
  • Headgear may be too tight and needs to be loosened

  • Mask may be worn and needs to be replaced

  • Contact Heartstrong for a re-evaluation of mask size and/or type or possible replacement of worn mask

  • You may want to consider using a mask liner

Dryness of throat or nose
  • Add humidifier or increase the level of the humidifier

  • Decrease room temperature

Sore or dry eyes
  • Re-Adjust headgear/mask or replace, if worn

  • Contact Heartstrong for re-evaluation of mask size or type

Noise level of machine has changed
Air is coming from unit, when powered off
Nasal, sinus or ear pain
  • Discontinue use and contact your physician or Heartstrong
